For the Texas House »

Texas Republicans Are Going Back on the Offensive.

The Texas Republican House Committee (TRHC) is the official organization working to elect and re-elect strong Republicans to the Texas House of Representatives. While there are many political action committees and organizations across the state supporting the Republican cause, the TRHC is solely dedicated to protecting and strengthening the Republican majority in the Texas House.

Despite the national Democrat surge in 2008, Texas Republicans were able to maintain control of the Texas House, but with a razor-thin majority. With only 77 seats out of 150, Republican control of the House is in danger—giving Democrats a realistic chance of electing a Democrat Speaker after the November 2010 election. A Democrat-controlled house led by a liberal Democrat Speaker will undo years of effective Republican policies that continue to make Texas one of the best places to live, work and raise a family in the country.

The TRHC is a fresh and innovative effort to make sure the Texas House stays in Republican hands. We are committed to learning from the past. We need stronger candidates who are right for their districts, better training and technology, more effective funding that comes earlier—when candidates need it most—and accountable spending so that every dollar spent builds towards victory at the polls.

It’s time to draw a line in the sand and take back the ground we have lost in the Texas House. Join us. The stakes could not be higher.
